Louise Henry Bryson is Chair Emerita of the Board
of Trustees for the J. Paul Getty Trust. She has had a 30-year career
in media. In 2009, Louise retired as the President of Distribution
at Lifetime Entertainment Services. She was also the Executive Vice
President, General Manager of Lifetime Movie Network. Ms. Bryson previously
served as a Senior Vice President at Fx Networks. She was responsible
for distribution of Fox Inc.’s new cable television channels and represented
the Fox-owned and affiliated stations in retransmission negotiation
with all cable television companies in the United States. Fx Network
launched in June 1994 with the largest distribution in cable history
at that time.
She began in public television as a writer and producer and received
numerous awards. Ms. Bryson is currently a Board Member for six Capital
Management Funds (AMCAP,AMF, ICA, FI, GFA, and SCWF). In addition,
she serves on the Board of Councilors for the Annenberg School for
Communication and the Advisory Board for the Stanford Business School.
She is a Trustee for Southern California Public Radio. Ms. Bryson
was Chairman of the Board for KCET, the local PBS station in Los Angeles,
and former member of the PBS National Board, which honored her with
the 1998 Award for Excellence in Public Television Leadership.
Ms. Bryson holds an MBA and an MAT from Stanford University. She is
a graduate of the Stanford Broadcast Institute and received her BA
from the University of Washington. She resides in San Marino, California
with her husband, John Bryson, and their four daughters.
